Reflection: Performance Tasks Cast Your Vote: Making Our Opinions Known - Section 5: Review


After all rough draft writing projects, I like to collect my students' work to give it a once over and add any final editting comments, symbols, etc. I may have for them.  Often I have my students swap papers and help each other with their editting, but by collecting their writing afterwards, I can get a quick idea of how well my students are doing on a whole with capitalizing, for example, and making sure that throughout the year, they're improving.  I ask: Are more students remembering to (capitalize, for example) on their own?  Are more students catching other students' mistakes as they peer edit?  Collecting all students' work then afterwards is a great way for me to check how things are going and adjust my instruction as needed!
