Reflection: Quizzes Problems and Solutions in The Odyssey - Section 1: Do Now: Book 9 Quiz

Since the purpose of the quiz was to see if students read the previously assigned reading, it might seem counterproductive to give back portions of the points students lost. I chose to give back the points because I want my students to succeed. I may still know whether or not they read based on the number of points they earned, but what about students that simply do not do well on tests and quizzes? In reflecting on this choice, I think it was the right one because some students may have missed questions on the quiz, not because they hadn't read, but because they have difficulties selecting the best quiz answer. This way, I students get to learn from their mistakes.
