Reflection: Intrinsic Motivation Letter to Myself as a High School Senior - Section 1: Warm Up

I always complete the "Write to my future 5th graders" activity FIRST.  This is a common end of the year task in many grades, and the kids are receptive to it, but it pales in comparison to the other.  "Writing to themselves as a senior," on the other hand, is new and intriguing.

Another important aspect- kids may write in the welcome letters to your new class that they will write this letter to themselves as a senior.  It's such a fun activity for the teacher to introduce, and you don't want it to be spoiled ahead of time. Most students get really excited at the prospect of writing this letter.

Definitely write the "Letter to yourself as a senior" SECOND.
