These kids were ready to read! As they read and annotated, they kept calling me over to see what they had done. They were so proud of their "Jack style" writing. Again, my boys were the first to show me their work. I was so impressed and also happy about my decision to move forward with this novel as I did. I was nervous about just handing them the novel and asking them to record their thoughts as they read. They seem excited and are on task, so I guess it's working out!
