Reflection: Routines and Procedures Socratic Seminar Preparation: Poetry - Section 2: Starter

Each year when I get to the poetry unit, I am reminded that I have this unrequited goal of beginning class each and every day with a poem read aloud.  It's always been something I've wanted to do and something that I always let slide each year.

I think it's that feeling of, "next year, I will..." that keeps us going as educators.  One of my great joys is keeping a journal in my plan book with my "next year" notes.

Those plans don't always come to fruition, but keeping track of those thoughts keeps me on my toes and always looking ahead and planning how I will make things better and better each year that I'm in the classroom.
