Reflection: Joy Converting Length using Metric System - Section 1: Opener

One of the things I really enjoyed today is sharing this mnemonic with my students.  I remember using this mnemonic throughout my college years in chemistry and physics.  I can still visualize writing this mnemonic at the top of my chemistry assessments.

It’s weird to think that I am the person who taught them something that might stick with them for many years to come.  Well, I wish everything I taught them would stick but I am realistic in thinking that some things will be forgotten.  I don’t remember everything from my younger days.  I think the real trick in educating students is making sure that learning is meaningful and practical so that they want to remember and apply the information in the future.
