Reflection: Quizzes Sequencing Quiz - Section 3: Assessment


I was pleased to find that students highlighted story clues to justify their answers. I model and have students practice highlighting as a means of focusing on the text for the answers. The shift in Common Core is towards text-based answers, so I made a great effort to encourage students to refer back to the reading. I know the additional practice and repetition was successful because most students scored 80% or higher.
