Reflection: Student Self-Assessment Jack and the Beanstalk Day 2 - Section 3: Self-Assessments


With the help of the video evidence, students were objective about their own performance.  Our class has conducted many self-assessments.  So, students understand the purpose of self-analysis.  They know that improving performance is the objective and that their peers are there to support their goals.  Students completed their Shared Inquiry Rubric without hesitation and freely shared their goals and needs.

Objective: SWBAT participate in collaborative conversations by linking comments to others' remarks, elaborating on topics, and clarifying text under discussion.

Big Idea: How do I gain different perspectives about a story by analyzing possible answers for interpretive questions? Students participate in Shared Inquiry discussions revolving around an interpretive question to deepen knowledge of text.
