Objective: Students will be able to apply scientific principles to design, construct, and test a device that either minimizes or maximizes thermal energy transfer.

Big Idea: Students use their knowledge of radiation, conduction, and convection to design thermal protection systems for NASA that will protect a spacecraft from burning up in the atmosphere!
