Objective: SWBAT identify and analyze rhetorical purposes and audience engagement techniques in three speeches by comparing the opening of Antony's speech to the opening lines of J.K. Rowling and Bono's Commencement addresses.

Big Idea: Setting up a rapport with an audience is a key ethos move for speakers who then make the turn toward a serious point.
