SWBAT order fractions and convert fractions into a decimal and a percent

Lesson Plan

Do Now/Warm Up:

Direct Instruction (I do it)

Remind students that fractions are parts of the whole. Ask them where they use fractions (pizza, cooking, flower petals, money, clock etc.)

Walk through(model) conversion of simple fractions into decimals and percents:

1/2     1/4     4/5     7/10     6/100

Talk about fractions percents and decimals and how they are related. Test scores fraction 6/10 is 60% etc.  of 0.60 of 1.0

Guided Instruction: We do it

Worksheet of fraction conversions to decimals and percents. Work through this together.

Page 3 of the Homework Worksheet resource - challenge page. Time students to see if they can do the ten problems in ten minutes. Students continue to work through the worksheets.  Complete for homework.
